Once again The Commentators Club lives up to its promise of curating a line up of the most sought after talent in the country. From the highest levels of the Footy world, the funniest well known and up and coming comedians, and our own Aria winning music man Mike Allen!
Our talent line-up for 2019 just went BOOM!
That’s right, to help kick off your grand final weekend, the Commentators Club is proud to announce we’ve got Brent ‘Boomer’ Harvey as our AFL great. We all know Boomer as the little champ who is the current AFL games record holder at 432. With Boomer it wasn’t just the longevity of his career … it was the quality.
A one club player, he is undoubtedly one of the AFL’s stars of the 21st Century. Harvey is assured a place among the finest players ever to wear the blue and white. A four-time All Australian, five-time Best and Fairest winner, premiership player and former captain of the Kangaroos.
He was goog from the start, debuting in 1996, he quickly found the goals kicking 32 goals in ’98 as a crumber in “Pagan’s Paddock”. After the disappointment of playing in North’s losing Grand Final side that year he backed up to be a great player in North’s 1999 premiership side, along the way winning the EJ Whitten Medal in the State of Origin as a young player. The accolades run too long to mention but we’ll throw in that he’s also been runner up in the Brownlow Medal and captained Australia in International Rules.
We can’t wait to chat with Boomer.
The Suburban Footballer
He’s sold out shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival but now ‘The Suburban Footballer’ will break through the 2019 Commentators Club luncheon banner and deliver a best on ground performance.
The Suburban Footballer (AKA Tom Siegart) is a star comedian whose developed a cult following. His sketches about the goings on at local suburban football clubs are legendary.
You’re assured non-stop laughs and you may even find some of his suburban football club characters strike a chord close to home.
